The Johannesburg Botanical Gardens is located in the outskirts of Emmarentia. The gardens were established in 1968 and take up about 125 hectares of natural space. The Emmarentia Dam is located within the grounds of the garden. The garden has around 30,000 trees, including species like cork oaks, English oaks, Californian redwoods, and silver birches.
Don't miss one of the main attractions, the Rose Garden, home to over 10,000 sumptuous roses. Garden demonstrations are held every day, visitors may picnic on the grounds, and the ponds offer a sanctuary to many types of waterfowl.
