The Radium Beer Hall is the oldest, and totally kicking, bar in Johannesburg. The dcor is reminiscent of pre-war soccer team and jazz loving beatnicks, adding to the charm and delight found inside. Live music is always present, and you can call ahead to see whos playing that particular day.
The menu is awesome with specials on Tuesdays, with half priced pizza. Starters include Foccaccia, Chicken Giblits, and Oysters. Salads include the Vegetarian Platter, Calamari Salad, and Greek Salad for 4. Seafood is prepared fresh in the Portuguese or Mozambique traditional styles. Fish dishes include Sole, Prawns in Beer, LM Prawns, Yellow Tail, Dorado, Kabeljou, and Calamari Steaks. Meats, pasta, and poultry abound and are carefully prepared. There are around 15 pizza types offered and the desserts featuring Wildberry Cheesecake and Lemon Merengue are sensational.
